Each game has its own site, its own rules and its own privacy policy. All of them are free to play.

Operation Epic Fury

Keep the oil moving. Keep the price down.

A real-time naval and economic strategy game in the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman and the Red Sea. Escort tankers, sweep mines and ration scarce interceptors while the price of a barrel keeps score. Factions, nations and ships are fictional; the geography and the oil market are real.

About

What Earth Ablaze is

Earth Ablaze is the label for a set of browser games about modern and historical military operations. Each game stands on its own, with its own site, but they're all built to the same three rules.

Free, in a browser tab

No download, no install, no launcher. Open the link and you're playing, on desktop, tablet or phone. Operation Overlord's practice games run entirely in your browser once the page has loaded.

Real ground

Maps come from open geographic data. Overlord's 221 land territories and 151 sea zones are built from Natural Earth. Operation Freedom covers all 398 districts of Afghanistan on real terrain, where mountains slow your trucks and the Salang closes with snow. Operation Epic Fury's shipping lanes are checked against real coastlines.

Real time

Nobody waits for a turn. Overlord puts six players on one shared clock, and Freedom's convoys, raids and missions play out while you watch. Both let you take command of a real-time tactical battle when it matters, in the spirit of Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

Before you deploy

What to expect

These are early builds
Operation Overlord says so on its own front page: balance hasn't been tested at scale, the bots are there to fill seats rather than outplay you, and a server update can end a match in progress.
Phones get the lighter version
All three games run in a phone browser. Overlord's 3D battles always resolve with dice on a small screen, and Operation Freedom's native iPhone and Android apps aren't out yet.
Games, not documentaries
They're set in real wars on real maps, but they're games. Operation Freedom's and Operation Epic Fury's factions, units and events are fictional, and Overlord's rules were written from scratch rather than taken from a board game.
Free to play, with a few extras
All three are free to play. To help cover the running costs, Overlord has an optional Commander plan for people who host a lot of matches, and nothing it sells changes how a battle plays. Operation Freedom and Operation Epic Fury have some purchases available too.
